I am beyond excited to share the details of a very special wedding I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid in this past weekend! From the most gorgeous weather to a beautiful ceremony to a ridiculously fun reception, the wedding day was absolutely perfect.
Today I’m sharing what I wore and a few thrifty tips that helped me save on necessities for the wedding.
The bride picked out strapless, short mint dresses from David’s Bridal for the bridal party. The best part? The dresses had pockets! I cannot reiterate how handy having pockets in a bridesmaid dress is! I had a tissue, lip balm, bobby pins and extra fashion tape on hand all day 🙂
Our stunning pink bouquets really popped against the mint green:
The statement necklaces were picked out by the bride’s sister from Ann Taylor Loft and aside from the bride, we all wore simple pearl studs.
Oh, and the matching mint sunglasses were the cherry on top of a perfect outfit! Thank goodness for Target.
Some thrifty tips from this weekend’s wedding:
>Our bride generously purchased our necklaces, nail polish and sunglasses. So our accessories, aside from earrings, were taken care of! Having our nail polish provided for us meant we could save by doing our nails ourselves rather than paying for a manicure. If you’re a bridesmaid and you have the option to do your nails yourself, go for it!
>Start looking for your shoes early. Rather than dictating a specific shoe we needed to purchase, the bride simply asked each bridesmaid to wear close-toed nude heels. I had a little over ten months to begin looking for shoes, so when I found a great deal on my Clarks heels on Black Friday, I went for it!
>If you’re wearing a strapless dress, buy yourself a pack of Hollywood Fashion Tape (around $8 for 36 strips). My strapless bra was a little higher than the back of my dress, so I had a fellow bridesmaid stick four strips of fashion tape onto my bra to stick to the dress. And believe it or not, the tape lasted the entire day without budging. Totally worth it!
So that’s what I wore this weekend! How did you spend your weekend?
